- Junior Technician, Junior Lab Assistant, Junior Technician (System/Network), Junior Assistant, Junior Accountant: Maximum 32 Years
- Multi-Tasking Staff: Maximum 27 Years
- Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen/Central Government employees as per Government of India rules. Special IIT internal relaxations apply where specified.
Eligibility
- Qualifications vary by post — ranging from 10th to Ph.D.. (See post-wise essential qualifications below.)

Salary / Pay Scales
- Pay Level-14 (Librarian): ₹1,44,200 – ₹2,18,200 per month
- Pay Level-10: ₹56,100 – ₹1,77,500 per month (Medical Officer, Student Counsellor, Software Engineer, Assistant Technical Officer, Assistant Executive Engineer (Civil), Assistant Registrar posts)
- Pay Level-8: ₹47,600 – ₹1,51,100 per month
- Pay Level-6: ₹35,400 – ₹1,12,400 per month
- Pay Level-4: ₹25,500 – ₹81,100 per month
- Pay Level-1: ₹18,000 – ₹56,900 per month (Multi-Tasking Staff)
- Additional benefits as per 7th Central Pay Commission rules. Exceptional candidates may be offered a higher starting pay as per selection committee discretion.

Post-Wise Essential Qualifications & Experience (Summary)
- Librarian: Master’s in Library Science (55%+) with minimum 10 years’ relevant experience; Ph.D. desirable.
- Medical Officer: MBBS (registered) with compulsory internship + required experience / PG qualifications as specified.
- Student Counsellor: Master’s in Psychology (Counselling/Clinical) with min. 5 years’ clinical experience; M.Phil/Ph.D preferred.
- Software Engineer: BE/B.Tech (CSE/IT/ECE) or MCA/M.Sc (CS) with min. 3 years’ relevant experience; ERP/IMS experience desirable.
- Assistant Technical Officer / Junior Technical / Lab Roles: Qualifications range from M.Tech/M.Sc/MCA/B.Tech/Diploma/ITI with specified years of experience depending on post and department.
- Administrative Roles (Assistant Registrar, Junior Superintendent, PS, etc.): Master’s/Bachelor’s with specified years of administrative/finance/academic experience; professional qualifications (MBA/CA/ICWA/LLB) desirable where noted.
