The Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati has launched the official website and notification for GATE 2026. Eligible candidates can apply online from 25 August 2025 to 25 September 2025 without a late fee, and till 06 October 2025 with a late fee through the official website gate2026.iitg.ac.in.

- Start Date to Apply Online: 25 August 2025
- Last Date to Apply Online (Without Late Fee): 25 September 2025
- Last Date to Apply Online (With Late Fee): 06 October 2025
- GATE 2026 Exam Dates: 07, 08, 14, 15 February 2026
Application Fee
- Female / SC / ST / PwD Candidates: ₹1000/- (Regular), ₹1500/- (Extended)
- All Other Candidates (Including Foreign Nationals): ₹2000/- (Regular), ₹2500/- (Extended)
Eligibility
- Candidates in 3rd or higher year of undergraduate degree OR completed a government approved degree in Engineering/Technology/Architecture/Science/Commerce/Arts/Humanities.
- Candidates with certification from approved professional societies (e.g. IE, ICE, IETE, AeSI, IIChE, IIM, IIIE) may also apply if deemed equivalent by MoE/AICTE/UGC/UPSC.
- International candidates must have completed or be in the 3rd year of a Bachelor’s degree of at least 3 years duration.
How to Apply for GATE 2026
- Visit the official portal – gate2026.iitg.ac.in
- Register and create a GOAPS account using your email and mobile number.
- Log in with your credentials and fill out the application form.
- Upload scanned images of photo, signature, and certificates.
- Select preferred paper(s) and exam city.
- Pay the application fee online through net banking, card, or UPI.
- Submit the form and download the confirmation page for future reference.
