Eligibility
- Dredge Cadets: Diploma in Nautical Science (DNS) from DG Shipping approved institutes.
- Trainee Marine Engineers: Four years Degree in Marine Engineering (IMU affiliated / AICTE / DG Shipping approved) OR Graduate Marine Engineering after 4 years Engineering Degree.
- Trainee Electrical Officers: Four years Degree in Electrical / Electronics / EEE / Electronics & Telecommunication / Electronics & Instrumentation (AICTE / Govt. recognised). Must have completed 4 months Electro Technical Officer course from DG Shipping approved institute.

Pay Scale
- Dredge Cadets: Rs. 15,000/- per month + Rs. 600/- per day victualing allowance
- Trainee Marine Engineers: Rs. 25,000/- per month + Rs. 600/- per day victualing allowance
- Trainee Electrical Officers: Rs. 25,000/- per month + Rs. 600/- per day victualing allowance
- Selected candidates must execute a Bank Guarantee of Rs. 3 lakhs or deposit equivalent amount to serve DCI for 5 years after training.
